Video transcript follows below, edited for clarity:
Hi, I'm Dr. Lisa Feulner. I am chief medical editor for Ophthalmology Management. I'm excited to be here at ASCRS 2025 in Los Angeles. There are so many great things happening at this meeting; make sure you get a chance to visit the floor, visit the vendors, go to some great talks.
A big topic this ASCRS is interventional glaucoma, and converting our practices to a more interventional prototype. It's great for the patient, it's great for the doctors, and certainly it's great for the bottom line. I recommend talking to some of the vendors out here and going to some talks to learn more about how you can convert your practice to an interventional glaucoma model.
AI is everywhere. We have AI from our industry partners. They're using it for diagnostics. They're using it for analyzing data. We have AI scribes available. We have AI in EMR. We have AI in everything. There are some great talks at this meeting on AI. There's a whole section on AI from some of the great doctors in the field.
There are some new lenses on the market. We've had sort of a drought of new and exciting lenses, but there are some great new lenses that have hit the market in the last year.
If you want to read more about AI, we have a new AI column in Ophthalmology Management. Visit ophthalmologymanagement.com to check out our new column, and make sure you tune in to hear from some of our great partners in the community who are going to tell you all you need to know about practice management issues: how to integrate new technology into your practice, how to open a practice, what decisions you need to make, what are the business tools you need to have, what does it cost to implement new technologies, how changes can be profitable for your company, and how you can grow your practice.
