Konan Medical USA has begun commercializing its new objective visual field analyzer, marketed under the brand names objectiveFIELD and OFA (Objective Field Analyzer).
objectiveFIELD (OFA) is now available for sale in the United States, Canada, Japan and select international markets — CE Mark under MDR is pending, the company said in a press release.
OFA is an objective, bilateral visual field analyzer that measures pupillary responses to spatially resolved stimuli, captured by video cameras under infrared conditions. Both the amplitude (sensitivity) and time-to-peak constriction (delay) of the pupil responses are used to measure visual field abnormalities, instead of the subjective push-button human-response to a stimulus required in subjective standard automated perimetry (SAP), according to the company press release. In addition, reports are presented in a classic format for quick and easy interpretation and side-by-side comparison with most SAP reports.
The device was developed in partnership with the John Curtin School of Medical Research, ANU College of Health and Medicine by a team of researchers led by Professor Ted Maddess. objectiveFIELD and OFA are registered in the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
