Haag-Streit’s new Imaging Module 910 3D (IM 910 3D) now features a dynamic 3D live-stream. The enhanced module comes equipped with a second 4K camera that allows ophthalmologists to experience an immersive depth impression, unveiling more detail and a richer viewing experience, the company said in a press release.
According to the company, the results have wide-ranging benefits for clinicians in practice, ophthalmology teachers and teleconsultants. Through the recording of videos and images in 3D, clinicians can gain a more detailed and authentic representation of the slit lamp exam, making the perception of anatomical relationships easier to identify, thereby enhancing the overall clarity and interpretability of the observed content, the company said.
Also, ophthalmology teachers can share an enhanced 3D digital view between the monitor and the oculars to allow residents to observe relevant details. The ability to stream quality digital videos and images in 3D to multiple residents around the world allows for a collaborative teaching environment.
In addition, the IM 910 3D fully supports remote clinical services, facilitating the virtual consultation between patient and health-care provider. The ability to transmit this immersive 3D experience remotely between teleconsultant and examining clinicians supports new possibilities in eye health care, the company said.
