Reichert Technologies’ Tono-Vera Tonometer with patented ActiView Positioning System is now available in the United States, the company said in a press release. The handheld tonometer provides quick, automated and reliable IOP measurements utilizing rebound tonometer technology, which eliminates the need for topical anesthetic.
The tonometer's ActiView Positioning System quickly guides the user to the apex of the cornea and is highlighted by a full-color view of the eye combined with an intuitive and interactive user interface for optimum position for IOP measurement. When correct alignment is achieved, Tono-Vera automatically measures, providing results in as few as three measurements taken in under one second.
In addition, the ergonomic and lightweight tonometer also features a Flexi-Soft Forehead Rest designed for easy distance control and patient comfort and is equipped with Bluetooth connectivity.
Tono-Vera is available in two model options: Rechargeable and AA Battery. Both models are portable and allow for a battery change that does not require tools.
