OPHTHALMOLOGY MANAGEMENT NAMES NEW CHIEF MEDICAL EDITOR
Lisa K. Feulner, MD, PhD, will assume the role at the start of 2022.
Ophthalmology Management announces the appointment of Lisa K. Feulner, MD, PhD, as its new chief medical editor, starting with the publication’s January 2022 issue. Dr. Feulner succeeds Larry E. Patterson, MD, who will step down after 13 years as Ophthalmology Management’s chief medical editor.
“I’d like to thank Dr. Patterson for his guidance and insight during the last 13 years, which have helped catapult Ophthalmology Management into the number one position in market share,” says Douglas A. Parry, executive vice president and publisher of Ophthalmology Management. “His pointed editorials have been the best in the field, done with wit, humor and always thought-provoking.”
Dr. Feulner, a board-certified ophthalmologist, founded Advanced Eye Care & Aesthetics located in Bel Air, Md., in November 2003. She will become Ophthalmology Management’s first female chief medical editor.
Dr. Feulner received her MD and PhD from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, where she attended as part of the prestigious Medical Scientist Training Program. She completed her residency in ophthalmology at the University of Minnesota, where she was a chief resident. Recognized for her work as a comprehensive ophthalmologist and cataract/refractive surgeon, she is also well known for her expertise in invasive and non-invasive aesthetic services and is an original member of CEDARS ASPENS, a not-for-profit society of anterior segment surgeon educators.
“We’re excited to have Dr. Feulner with us at the editorial helm of Ophthalmology Management,” says Mr. Parry. “She has a great passion for our publication and brings a successful background of practice building and patient care expertise that will help OM grow its leadership position.” OM
