VISITEC I-RING PUPIL EXPANDER

1 The Visitec I-Ring Pupil Expander, a single-use iris retraction device, is intended for intraoperative small pupil management. By expanding the iris, the I-Ring helps to increase the surgeon’s field of view and improve access to the lens of the eye while protecting the iris, the company says. Its fixed channel height prevents iris pinching during insertion and removal, and its safe-positioning holes protect the iris from potential damage. Also, the device’s polyurethane material is designed to feel gentle on intraocular tissue.

EYE ECO DRY EYE RELIEF MASK

2 The Dry Eye Relief Mask (D.E.R.M.), from Eye Eco, is a moist-heat/cold compress mask made from silica beads intended to help relieve dry eye discomfort. Heating the mask in a microwave for 20 seconds allows a four- to six-minute moist-heat treatment, or a seven- to nine-minute treatment by placing a moistened cotton liner over the mask before heating. Using a liner with D.E.R.M. also increases sanitation to use the product in-office on multiple patients.

SynergEyes’ UltraHealth FC is an oblate-design hybrid lens. The lens is intended for patients with flatter corneas, such as patients who are post-Rk, post-surgical or those with other refractive error problems or trauma. The UltraHealth FC lens has a reverse geometricalvaulted lens design and includes a 130 Dk GP center and an 84 Dk silicone hydrogel skirt. The lens uses the company’s SoftCushion technology.

3 Abbott’s iDesign Advance WaveScan Studio System measures and maps a patient’s eyes. This creates a personalized LASIK treatment plan based on the unique “blueprint” of each patient’s eyes. During a three-second scan, the system captures more than 1,200 micro readings of the eye. It identifies: the shape and curvature of the cornea; how light passes through the eye; the pupil’s diameter under different lighting conditions.
