MALYUGIN/CIONNI CTR

1 A variation of the Cionni Capsular Tension Ring (CTR), this device comes preloaded on the EyeJet, Type 10G disposable injector. The sterilized injectors are packaged in a peel-open, contoured container. The units come the CTR already affixed with a clamp to the injector hook. Unlike the standard Type 14 CTRs, the Malyugin/ Cionni Ring has a curvature at one open end. This curvature allows the CTR to slide along the capsular bag equator, eliminating the risk of perforating the capsular fornix.

ZIEMER LDV Z8 FEMTOSECOND LASER

The Z8 is the latest in a series of femtosecond lasers from Ziemer Ophthalmic Systems AG. The Z8 is indicated for a variety of corneal, presbyopic and cataract procedures, including corneal and arcuate incisions, precise capsulotomy and lens fragmentation. Pending approvals, the Z8 debuted at the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons meeting.

OCTOPUS 600 PERIMETER

3 The first TFT-based perimeter from Haag-Streit is a compact , stand-alone instrument that runs white-on-white perimetry and the PULSAR method for the early detection of glaucoma. The duration of the test is 2-4 minutes. It operates silently, without fans or motors. The PULSAR method is a patented flicker stimulus showing a ring pattern with different contrast levels in counter phase. The new PULSAR functionality of the Octopus 600 presents a contrast-modulated ring target that flickers at 30 Hz in counter phase. The Octopus features automated eye tracking to recognize the position of the pupil and keep the eye centered.

PRELOADED HENDERSON CAPSULAR TENSION RING

4 The Henderson Capsular Tension Ring is now available preloaded in the EyeJet type 10C disposable injector. The injector includes a peel-open, contoured, sterilized container. Each unit comes with one of the CTRs already affixed to the hook of the injector with a clamp on the injector to prevent movement. The CTR is loaded into the injector by pushing the clamp backward. The clamp is then removed positioning the ring for insertion into the capsular bag. The Henderson Ring features eight equally spaced indentations spanning the circumference of the ring, creating a sinusoidal shape.

LEICA MICROSYSTEMS 3D SURGICAL MICROSCOPES

The Leica M720 OH5 and M525 OH4 microscopes eliminate the need for a separate 3D cart by incorporating digital 3D technology-provided integration with TrueVision. These microscopes give surgeons control of the recording functions, without interrupting workflow with foot controls as well as hand controls. RHEIN RESPOSABLE KNIVES

Resposable knives, from Rhein Medical, have glass handles that can withstand an autoclave. The knives consist of keratomes, limited-depth, and paracentesis blades. The keratomes include parallel and trapezoidal configurations. They also include a 3D feature which causes the incision to contort to provide a more torturous path for fluid egression. The knives come in packages of six.
