iPHONE ADAPTER

■ A new adapter for the iPhone 4 or 4S connects to the Keeler Portable Slit Lamp's eye piece to allow instant high-resolution video capture. The setup is convenient for using remotely with pediatric, elderly or disabled patients or at off-site clinics, the manufacturer says. The hardware uses an iPhone's imaging capabilities and linked email to make it easy for users to upload and send video footage.

iPAC PACHYMETER

■ The iPac handheld pachymeter from Reichert features Bluetooth wireless connectivity to submit measurements directly to your EMR system or a Bluetooth-enabled printer. A color LCD screen provides CCT measurements in large, easy-to-read graphics, with an auto-rotating display that shifts to any viewing orientation. The display can also be customized to show IOP correction, standard deviation and LR or OD/OS notation. Fueled by rechargeable batteries, the iPac uses a single five-way control button for all functions.

■ Ista's Bromday 0.09% bromfenac ophthalmic solution is now available in a twin pack of two 1.7 mL bottles. The pack allows surgeons to write one prescription for two bottles, covering two surgeries, convenient for physicians and patients alike after bilateral cataract surgery. Alleviating frequent callbacks after the procedure, the double prescription boosts physician efficiency, Ista says. With some insurance plans, patients may also only have a single copay.
