VIDEO DISPLAY FOR LOW VISION PATIENTS
Low-vision patients who would benefit from a magnifying device may do well with the Quicklook 2, a video magnification system featuring two cameras and a touch screen.
While a side flip-out camera can be used for reading and writing, a center-mounted camera can be used for all other magnification needs. With 56 viewing modes and a 1x to 24x magnification range, the highly customizable, battery-operated device lasts five hours before needing to be recharged.

SCREW-THREAD IOL INJECTOR
Crestpoint Management has released a new IOL injector. Compatible with its Loading Forceps and the AMO One Series Ultra Cartridge, the injector's screw thread design allows fast, precise insertion of the single-piece AcrySof IOL, according to the manufacturer. The surgeon's movement is minimized as the thread engages when the injector is put in the IOL pre-load position. The capsular-safe tip helps manipulate the lens after it has been injected, the manufacturer says.

TRIPLE POST LID SPECULUM
■ Rhein Medical introduces the Brown Triple Post Speculum, designed to prevent lashes from overlapping the drape and lids/lashes rotating into the surgical field. The fenestrated blades improve exposure and access to surgical approaches by supporting and elevating the middle of the lids. The speculum improves access and visualization of the superior cornea by creating an oval separation of the lids, preventing drape obstruction.
