ACCUPEN
Accutome
■ The AccuPen Handheld Applanation Tonometer provides physicians with fast and accurate intraocular pressure measurements. It has an ergonomic design and sighting lines allow for easy visualization of the cornea, facilitating both centralization and perpendicularity.
The AccuPen uses micro-strain gauge technology and proprietary waveform analysis to ensure accurate pressure measurements. It also contains gravity-offset technology, which requires less calibration. Physicians can enter a patient's central corneal thickness (CCT) to obtain adjusted pressure values based on their CCT.

HENDERSON CAPSULAR TENSION RING AND AHMED CAPSULAR TENSION SEGMENTS
FCI Ophthalmics, Inc
■ The Henderson Capsular Tension Ring is an open C-shaped loop made of a single piece of Polymethyl Methacrylate. Employing a Morcher proprietary process in the manufacture, the PMMA has enhanced flexibility and resistance to breakage, according to the manufacturer.
The unique design of the Henderson Ring features eight equally spaced indentations spanning the circumference of the ring, creating a sinusoidal shape. The main advantage of this ring is that the new indentations allow for easier nuclear and cortical material removal while still maintaining the desired stretch of the capsular bag.
The Ahmed CTS is a partial ring of clear PMMA covering approximately one quadrant with a hole for temporary or permanent fixation. A single iris retractor hooked into the hole can support the segment during surgery. Lacking a pointed tip, these broad, polished ring segments will not tear the capsulorhexis during surgery. Following surgery, they can either be removed or sutured to the sclera for permanent support.
One or more segments may be used as necessary to support the areas of the capsule that have damaged or have insufficient zonular support.

AUTOFLUORESCENT FILTERS
Topcon Medical Systems, Inc.
■ Spaide Autofluorescent Filters, used exclusively in Topcon's ImageNet camera systems, produce a vivid, detailed image of the lipofuscin material that accumulates in the retinal pigment epithelial cells, the company says. As a result, the new filters will improve tonal contrast, while reducing “noise” in fundus autofluorescence images, the company says.
The Spaide Autofluorescent filters do not stimulate fluorescein or indo-cyanine green dyes, so users can acquire photographs pre- or post-angiography
