INFINITI VISION SYSTEM
Alcon
The Infiniti Vision System allows ophthalmologists to provide customized treatment to each patient. The dual-sensing, low-compliant fluidic-management system (FMS) decreases post-occlusion surge, delivering enhanced stability and surgical control, says Alcon.
The OZil Torsional handpiece delivers side-to-side oscillating ultrasonic movement, which eliminates repulsion of traditional longitudinal ultrasound. The lack of repulsion facilitates occlusion and effective delivery of energy into lens material. The AquaLase Liquefaction device can be used on soft-to-medium-density cataracts to safely "wash away" lenses while optimizing capsular safety.

WHITESTAR SIGNATURE AND SOVEREIGN COMPACT
Advanced Medical Optics
The WhiteStar Signature System with Fusion Fluidics optimizes intraoperative safety to help users maximize patient outcomes. The Fusion Dual Pump Fluidic system provides improved irrigation and higher flow and vacuum capabilities, all under the calm, clear control of proprietary Occlusion Mode and Advanced Chamber Stabilization Environment (CASE) technology for ultimate chamber stabilization, says AMO.
In addition, the latest WhiteStar ultrasound technology provides the highest cutting efficiency with the lowest power use, says the company. The WhiteStar Signature features a one-step/one-hand cassette, faster prime, intuitive touch screen, intelligent onscreen help and wireless accessories.
The Sovereign Compact system, featuring advanced fluidic performance in a compact system, now offers WhiteStar ICE Technology. This technology dramatically reduces the amount of phaco energy directed into the eye while still providing full ultrasound cutting efficiency.
Nuclear fragments are drawn safely and efficiently to the phaco tip, a phenomenon called "magnetic" followability. This results in visibly clearer corneas on the first postop day without changing technique.

SONIC WAVE PHACO SYSTEM
STAAR Surgical Company
■ The Sonic Wave fragments lenses while operating in the sonic (40-500 Hz) frequency range, which uses up to 1,000 times less energy than standard ultrasound effectively preventing corneal burns, says STAAR.
Switching between sonic and traditional ultrasonic modes is accomplished through the footswitch. Excellent anterior chamber stability at all vacuum levels, even as high as 500 mm Hg, can be achieved when using the Cruise Control filtering device coupled with STAAR Surgical’s patented PeriVent and Auto-Correlation fluidics, says STAAR. The efficiency of the autotuning handpiece eliminates the need for recalibration.
