OCuSOFT Eyelid Cleanser Proven to Reduce Harmful Bacteria

Study Findings
Two recent independent studies focusing on the efficacy of eyelid
cleansers as a means of reducing the presence of harmful bacteria were
conducted and a comparison of bacterial kill rates as well as eye
irritation scores were evaluated.1 In the time kill study conducted by
Care BioPharma, Mundelein, Ill., OCuSOFT Lid Scrub PLUS and its nearest
competitor in eyelid hygiene were subjected to the pathogen
Staphylococcus epidermidis for
60 seconds, after which, a measurement was taken to determine the log
reduction. The competition showed a 3.5 log reduction while OCuSOFT Lid
Scrub PLUS measured a 5.5 log reduction.
In a separate study, focusing on eye irritation, conducted by Tox
Monitor Laboratories, Oak Park, Ill., OCuSOFT Lid Scrub PLUS was
categorized as an entire ratings category milder than its closest
competitor � nearly a 300% lower rating.
This reduced level of eye irritation, coupled with availability in both
pre-moistened pads or foam pump dispenser, serves to promote
significantly better patient compliance than any other cleanser,
