AUTOMATIC REFRACTOR/KERATOMETER 599
Carl
Zeiss Meditec
The HARK 599 is the first full-featured combination automatic refractor/keratometer
that enables both subjective and objective refraction with low-contrast, glare and
visual acuity testing, says CZM. The HARK allows for immediate patient feedback
on the
prescription.
Automatic alignment and tracking allow the instrument to follow shifts in eye movement during testing, while speeding up routine examination time, improving patient comfort level and achieving accurate refractions, says CZM. Automatic keratometry provides precise keratometric readings, including Delta Ks.
The operator control panel can be positioned at either 90° or 180° from the patient to meet any office space requirements while encouraging communication between patient and operator.

THE ARK-530A AND THE M3
Marco
The ARK-530A automated refractor/keratometer features an advanced super luminescent diode (SLD ), making measurements of cataracts and IOLs possible. It also utilizes a zonal ring image method combined with a sensitive CCD. The ARK-530A is fully automated when aligning, tracking and focusing on the patient's eye, ensuring the most reliable and repeatable data for refractive and keratometry measurements, says Marco.
The ARK-530A allows the operator to take peripheral keratometric measurements including sagittal radius and eccentricity values used in corneal evaluations for contact lens fitting and refractive surgery evaluations.
The M3 automatic refractor, keratometer and non-contact tonometer incorporates three diagnostics to offer the first combination unit of its kind. In combining refractive power, corneal curvature and IOP, the M3 provides accurate patient information faster than ever before, says Marco. In addition to improved office efficiency, the combination of three instruments into one provides space saving options that have previously been unavailable.

AUTOREFRACTORS
Topcon Medical Systems
Topcon offers a full line of autorefractors, including the KR/RM-8800 series autorefractors/keratometers, the KR-8000PA tri-functional auto keratorefractometer and the KR-9000PW quad-functional wavefront analyzer. The new 8800 series features a color-LCD display and provides measurement through pupils as small as 2.0 mm.
The tri-functional KR-8000PA incorporates an autorefractor, an autokeratometer and color corneal mapping all in one unit, while providing corneal mapping measurements out to 10 mm.
The KR-9000PW features a full-range autorefractor, autokeratometer and computerized corneal mapping system, as well as a wavefront analyzer. The instrument provides sphere, cylinder and axis measurements as well as indicating spherical aberrations, coma and other higher-order aberrations of the eye. It is based on the most reliable wavefront measurement principles (Hartmann-Shack wavefront sensor and Zernike Polynomials), says Topcon.
All Topcon units feature exclusive integrated rotary-prism technology for accurate measurement results.

MRK-3100P
Veatch Ophthalmic Instruments
The MRK-3100P is the third- generation instrument from Huvitz. It provides precise refraction and keratometry data with the push of a button. A popular scenic target, as well as a children's chart and low-vision chart, assures consistent fixation to ensure accuracy. The high- resolution CCD offers the ability to retro illuminate an image of the eye on the 6-inch monitor to display opacities. The patient's pupil, cornea and iris size can be measured while in the measurement mode. In addition, the patient's pupil distance and contact lens base curves can be acquired. The MRK-3100P is also designed to integrate with Huvitz's DRS-3100 Digital Refraction System.

ZALDIVAR LRI AND KOCH LRI
MARKERS
ASICO LLC
The Zaldivar LRI and Koch LRI markers are designed with an axis extension to easily align with the steepest meridian while working with a degree gauge for precise alignment, says ASICO.
To
avoid error due to the torsional movement of the globe, fixed marks are located
on the
90° meridian as reference points for marking in the upright position
and referencing in the recumbent position.
The Zaldivar LRI/Axis Marker is created to mark the cornea at 10.5 mm and the Koch LRI/Axis Marker is created to mark the cornea at 10 mm. Both markers correct astigmatism of 1 D and 2 D.

The Makrolux lens is designed to minimize fatigue and eyestrain. |
Eschenbach's Makrolux lens is designed to minimize fatigue and eyestrain. The 2.2x magnification lens is distortion-free from edge to edge and is uniformly illuminated by a bright SMD-LED, the newest form of LED illumination. The large 90x30 mm viewing area is rectangular in shape making it easy to navigate across lines of text, says Eschenbach. The forward-tilted angled lens supports a comfortable reading position and reading area covers the column width of many newspapers and magazines.

REUSABLE AND DISPOSABLE IRIS RETRACTORS
FCI Ophthalmics
FCI Ophthalmics introduces reusable and disposable iris retractors to supplement the company's line of cataract products.
The flexible iris retractors are used to gently stretch and stabilize the iris for maximum visibility during surgery. Once the iris is hooked and retracted, these bright blue retractors are held securely in position by sliding the tiny adjustable silicone "donut" up to the limbus.
The flexible iris retractors are made of blue polypropylene fiber and are easily inserted through a 0.5-mm incision, making them ideal for temporary iris dilation. The reusable iris retractors are packaged sterile, in boxes of six in a steam autoclavable container.
