The Latest Data on Physician Starting Salaries
Hiring a new physician is an important and expensive
proposition for ophthalmology practices. Practices should have hard data on starting
base salaries, benefits and restrictive covenants for employed physicians in order
to be competitive without going overboard. The Health Care Group, Inc. conducts
an annual Physician Starting Salary Survey containing such information as new doctor
employment arrangements in ophthalmology and other medical practices. The 2005 Physician
Starting Salary Survey is now available free of charge online at
http://www.healthcaregroup.com.
Below are selected examples of first-year base salary, benefits, malpractice insurance
and restrictive covenant information for ophthalmologists drawn from the 2005 Physician
