Over the past 5 years, our On The Net column has featured more than 50 ophthalmology-related Web sites from around the globe. Finally, we have put modesty aside and decided to toot our own horn.

The timing is perfect. Boucher Communications, Inc. (BCI), the parent company of Ophthalmology Management, is a multimedia company that produces five vision care publications, as well as high-profile conferences and online services meeting the informational and educational needs of eyecare professionals. Recently, BCI created a comprehensive company Web site, www.boucher1.com, that consolidates useful information about all of our business initiatives in one convenient, easy-to-navigate site.

The boucher1.com site offers archived issues of all of our vision care magazines, including Ophthalmology Management, Optometric Management, Contact Lens Spectrum, Eyecare Business, and our newest publication, Retinal Physician, which has been well-received by retinal specialists following its debut in the summer of 2004. Together, the five publications cover a range of eyecare topics of interest to ophthalmologists, optometrists, opticians and anyone in vision care.

The site also provides information concerning upcoming professional meetings and conferences, opportunities for ophthalmologists to earn continuing medical education credits online, and a classified advertising section that can help you fill a job opening or acquire needed equipment and/or supplies.

Ophthalmologists can also take part in online surveys relating to timely topics, and participate in a discussion message board that facilitates the exchange of professional information and opinions.
