Nonprovider personnel cost continues to be the highest expense item for most ophthalmology practices, often comprising more than 65% of total practice overhead.
The 2004 Staff Salary Survey, just published by The Health Care Group, located in Plymouth Meeting, Pa., gives you hard data for comparing and structuring your staff members' compensation.
Below are the national averages for ophthalmology practices as reported in the 2004 Staff Salary Survey.
Note that staff averages are given on a per-hour basis while Administrator/Executive Director, Assistant Manager, Business Manager and Office Manager averages are given on an annual salary basis.
