The Kershner LRI Marker marks the cornea at 15°, 30°, 45° and 60°. |
|
LRI MARKER
Rhein Medical has added the Kershner Limbal Relaxing Incision (LRI) Marker to its line of instruments.
You can use the Kershner LRI marker with or without ink. Simply press the marker on the cornea and it leaves a
pattern of radials to guide your LRI incisions.
The outer diameter of the marker is 10 mm; the inner diameter is 8 mm. This creates five opposing radial marks 1 mm in length that extend outward, separated by 15° intervals.

The AL-2000 Biometer/Pachymeter includes the Haigis formula, especially useful for calculating the IOL powers of high myopes and high hyperopes. |
|
BIOMETER/PACHYMETER
The Tomey Corporation has received 510(k) clearance for the AL-2000 Biometer/Pachymeter.
In the biometry mode, the AL-2000 can calculate IOL power using the SRK-II, SRK/T, Holladay or Haigis formulas, and can display up to three lens constants for each formula chosen.
In the pachymetry mode, the AL-2000 can measure as many as 25 points across the cornea. The measurement range of 150 to 1,500 microns allows you to evaluate even thick LASIK flaps accurately.

The MegaPeel -- a microdermabrasion system -- exfoliates scars, wrinkles, birthmarks and sun-damaged skin. |
|
MICRODERMABRASION
DermaMed, Inc. now offers a microdermabrasion system called the MegaPeel.

Because you won't need to refer patients to a dermatologist for this fee-based service, your practice's bottom line will benefit.

COMPACT EDGER
Gerber Coburn has unveiled Delta, a compact edging system. The company believes Delta is an ideal investment if you're integrating finishing equipment into your practice for the first time.
Delta features "4-D" tracing software, which, according to the company, "provides the most efficient frame tracing and lens mapping we offer. The Delta Tracer not only measures the x, y and z axes, it also provides the frame groove angle. This new technique greatly reduces process time required for acquiring the profile of the frame wire groove and makes the lens-to-frame fit much more precise and efficient, reducing any rework."
