DIAMOND KNIFE

Rhein Medical's Advantage diamond knife features a 10-facet diamond blade with a snub-nose tip for tracking through tissue. The blade has preset calibration settings of 300 and 600 mm.

Rhein Medical believes the knife is ideal for performing a stab paracentesis, a 300-mm step-groove incision, 600-mm astigmatic keratotomy incisions, trabeculectomies, limbal relaxing incisions and tunneling into the anterior chamber through the phaco incision.

Porex Surgical molds the Medpor Quad Motility Biomaterial Implant from high-density polyethylene.

IMPLANT

Porex Surgical has received 510K clearance for its new Medpor Quad Motility Biomaterial Implant.

The implant, which is round and orbital with four mounds located anteriorly, is designed for use in enucleation and evisceration procedures. It's available in three sizes, small (16 mm), medium (18 mm) and large (20 mm).
