BLADE CLEANING SYSTEM

Rhein Medical has introduced the Blade Cleaning System, which removes "stubborn" tissue and debris from diamond, sapphire, ruby, stainless steel and other surgical blades without harming the cutting edges.

The System consists of a reusable cradle. The cradle accepts disposable cleaning packs. Each pack contains one cleaning well and two rinsing wells, and can be used for about 15 cleanings.

Rhein Medical's Blade Cleaning System requires little counter space.

1.1-MM PUNCTUM PLUG

Eagle Vision is touting its 1.1-mm FlexPlug as "the world's largest punctum plug." The FlexPlug fits snugly in the punctal opening.

The FlexPlug is opaquely colored, making it easy to visually monitor the placement of the plug. The color also aids in removal.

The patient-financing company CareCredit has released a digital media kit on CD-ROM.

The digital media kit contains text and graphics that you can use on your practice's Web site to promote the availability and benefits of third-party financing. ILM FORCEPS

The A9-2402 ILM forceps have an extra-fine tapered tip.

Akorn now offers two forceps designed to help you peel the internal limiting membrane (ILM). Both forceps feature 20g shafts that taper to 23g. One pair (part number A9-2400) has a straight, flat tip for broad grasping of the membrane; the second pair (part number A9-2402) has an extra-fine tapered tip for fine grasping.

"The ILM forceps have squeeze-type handles that allow smooth, controlled closure," says an Akorn spokesperson. "In addition, the forceps' round handles allow fingertip rotation for increased maneuverability."
