The American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) recently published a pamphlet answering millennium bug questions. Here are some of their recommendations:
- Test all critical equipment.
- Check the credentials of any Y2K computer consultants you employ.
- Prioritize all of your equipment needs and fill all appropriate non-compliant equipment.
- Develop contingency plans.
- Educate your staff on Y2K issues.
- Document all aspects of your preparation to demonstrate "diligence."
- If you purchase equipment, review the contract to ensure appropriate Y2K compliance language.
