One advantage is that leasing allows you to perform procedures in your office instead of at a hospital or ambulatory surgery center. This is significant because reimbursement for some procedures is affected by Medicare’s site-of-service differential.

The differential commonly applies to laser procedures and reduces the physician’s reimbursement when the procedure is performed in an institutional setting. But if the same procedure is performed in the physician’s office, reimbursement is often not reduced.
