You probably already know that practice makes perfect, but now its been proven true for LASIK surgery as well.
A Canadian study of the first 1,000 consecutive procedures performed by one physician demonstrated that frequency of complications and the time required for surgery both decreased as the physician became more familiar with the procedure. None of the 32 eyes with intraoperative complications or surgical events in this study lost two or more lines of vision, and only one eye with postoperative complications lost two lines of vision.
