Surgeons have been shocked in the last year to see LASIK fees falling to as low as $750 per eye. According to Practice Management Consultant John Pinto, San Diego, Calif., LASIK is heading inevitably toward commodity pricing. He says fees will continue to decline as savvy patients bid out their elective surgery just as savvy travelers bid out their plane flights today.
Pinto predicts the average price-point for LASIK will be at $1,250 per eye or less within 5 years in America. Patients willing to travel to Canada will pay half this.
