CENTERVUE MACULAR INTEGRITY ASSESSMENT (MAIA)

CenterVue Inc.’s MAIA scanning laser ophthalmoscopy (SLO) confocal microperimetry technology allows concurrent analysis of structural and functional aspects of the retina. Used to obtain a diagnosis decision on various retinal diseases, MAIA aids treatment efficacy progression of retinal pathology monitoring, macular function assessment prior to cataract surgery, fixation characteristics description prior to laser treatment and unexplained vision loss examinations.

HAAG-STREIT C.RED 900

1 Designed to be integrated with the Haag-Streit Hi-R NEO 900 ophthalmic microscope, the company’s C.RED 900 red reflex enhancer emits a bright red glow directly into the eye. This assists visualization of the anterior chamber during cataract surgery, including details during capsulorhexis and polishing of the capsular bag. For light hazard protection, it can be individually adjusted to achieve the preferred amount of glow.

NICOX RETNAGENE

The Nicox RetnaGene portfolio includes two laboratory-developed genetic tests used to assess individual risk for advanced AMD. The tests, RetnaGene AMD and RetnaGene LR, were developed and validated and are performed exclusively by Seque-nom Laboratories. RetnaGene AMD evaluates risk for advancing to wet AMD within two, five and 10 years in patients age 55 years and older who have early or intermediate dry AMD. RetnaGene LR, for patients who have not been diagnosed with AMD, evaluates lifetime risk of advanced wet or dry AMD.

EyeMed Vision Care’s new smartphone application allows members to access vision plan benefits and eligibility status, a digital copy of member ID cards and locate network providers. Other features include turn-by-turn directions and answers to frequently asked questions.
