ARK-1S
1. The ARK-1s, the latest autorefractor and autokeratometer from Marco and Nidek, measures objective spherical, cylindrical refractive errors and cylinder axis from the refractive status of the eye. It combines the capability of glare testing with low contrast testing, accommodation, retro-illumination, visual acuity chart presentation and the ability to subjectively refine the sphere. The glare testing capability is designed to make it easier to test patients with cataracts. The ARK-1s has the capability for low-contrast testing as well. It also features accommodative measurement to help doctors detect problems in prepresbyopia, latent hyperopes, and children who have trouble reading.

NEXTGEN NEXTPEN
4. The NextPen is a digital pen device designed to pair up with NextGen practice management software. The NextPen eliminates the need to scan and transcribe records because it instantly captures data using a tiny camera in the pen tip and storing it within the pen itself. Then, the pen can be used in a manner similar to a flash drive to upload the data to NextGen’s EHR software. Use of the NextPen essentially renders the paper a temporary storage while the pen itself stores the record. NextGen
